A new mod allows players to use multiple peripherals simultaneously on GTA V, making for a more immersive experience. The mod is available on PC and Xbox One, but what are the potential future uses of this technology?
The thrustmaster rudder pedals drivers is a driver that allows users to get multiple peripherals (wheel, pedals, flightstick, throttle) to work on GTA V simultaneously.
(This is a re-post from r/GrandTheftAutoV PC.)
This is more of an update to u/initial Kuiriel’s PSA. I’ve gotten multiple peripherals to work in GTA V, allowing for “on-the-fly” switching between an x360 controller and a keyboard and mouse. For anyone who are interested in utilizing their sim racing wheel and/or HOTAS gear in GTA, I’d like to share my experience.
I use the following hardware: Virpil WarBRD + T50CM2 Grip Throttle – Virpil T50CM Misc – Winwing Take-off panel Wheel – Fanatec CSW v2.5 + CSL Elite P1 Pedals – Fanatec CSL ELite Flightstick – Virpil WarBRD + T50CM2 Grip Throttle – Virpil T50CM Misc – Winwing Take-off panel
GTA V is required software (of course)
Gremlin x360ce v4.x vJoy Joystick
The setup concept remains the same: you must ultimately transform the input commands from your devices into an emulated XInput interface that the game can understand. During the emulation, the integration of input instructions from various devices is crucial.
In theory, utilizing the most recent version of x360ce alone is sufficient for the task. However, in my opinion, the user-friendliness of the keys and axes binding in x360ce is at most poor, and Joystick Gremlin’s advanced capabilities such as user-defined axis center and outmost deadzones, completely configurable axes response curves, and mode switching functions are a necessity.
Procedures for setting up:
-
Download and install the necessary softwares in the directory of your choice.
-
Set the amount of buttons and axes you need on the virtual joystick device. Personally, I made sure that the button and axe layouts matched those of a real x360 controller to make binding in x360ce simpler later on.
-
In both Joystick Gremlin and x360ce, create a profile. By specifying the game’s installation directory, you may link them to GTA V. The settings in x360ce are shown in the diagram below:

- You can map your peripherals to the vJoy device in any way you choose. Personally, I use Joystick Gremlin to establish various modes so that my peripherals may do different functions depending on the circumstance, including on-demand switching:

To double-check your settings, use Joystick Gremlin’s built-in input command viewer. If you get stuck when customizing, go to this guide. All of your requirements should be met by using button remap, keyboard remap, axis to button, macro setup, and axis merging.
-
Using x360ce, map your vJoy device to a virtual XInput controller. You may utilize the auto mapping feature for a fast setup if you follow my suggestion in step (2). In the tab “Controller 1,” add both the vJoy device and the real x360 controller to enable “on-the-fly” switching between them:

Launch GTA first, then activate your Joystick Gremlin profile to test your setup. Be patient as the testing will most likely be a trial-and-error procedure.

Notes on the side:
A) I haven’t experimented with force feed back since I don’t want explosions to result in undesired steering inputs. If you don’t mind and are able to make it work, please share your experience with us.
B) Launching x360ce would muck up Aquasuite’s virtual sensor-based software fan controller. I’m not sure why :/
C) Oh, and in case you’re wondering whether this will also work on GTA Online:
Sigh…

GTA IV is by far my favorite GTA game.
It’s getting more attention lately, yet it’s still underappreciated. The darker, more realistic approach didn’t seem to appeal to many people (given the reaction it received a decade ago), but I liked it. Niko is one of my favorite video game characters; the voice actor did an excellent job, and his background was sad. The…

GTA ONLINE IS AN ONLINE GAME
I haven’t played GTA 5 in maybe 3-4 months, and I was beginning to feel annoyed/bored with it even before that. Because that’s all you can do, I only played online (not moaning at that part). My buddy and I used to have a lot of fun playing it, but now it’s…

Scars on the body
This article is about the next set of scars in Cursed Sails, as well as how scars will function in the future. For additional background, everyone who fought the Meg during that event is now wearing the Hungering Deep scar. As a result, I’m guessing the skeletal scars will be limited to the…
