Inscryption is a goofy, turn-based RPG that pits you and your team of buddies against the forces of Golly (the evil sky pirate) as he attempts to conquer all of Insmelterra. This guide will help you defeat him in Act 3!
Golly, an internet-loving robot, is the fourth monster you must beat in Act 3 of Inscryption. It’s the most difficult challenge yet, with a slew of strong cards that may swiftly overwhelm you if you’re not ready. It’s entirely randomized as well, making it even more difficult to anticipate.
Preparation
After you’ve defeated The Canvas, you’ll be allowed to make your own card. It’s your chance to make something strong, capable of winning a conflict in a single turn. The cost of playing the card will grow based on whatever sigils you give it, so pick one or two disadvantageous sigils, such as Annoying, to get extra attack points. When deployed at the appropriate moment, Bifurcated Strike and Sniper are an excellent sigil combination since they let you to assault any square twice, which may easily win a battle.
Friends turn become foes.
Golly will play a Mole with zero attack, four HP, and the Burrower symbol at the start of the first phase, which means it will jump to any space you’re assaulting. Naturally, you’ll want to eliminate it as quickly as possible so you can begin delivering direct damage. However, you should play conservatively for the first few turns.
Simply play an Empty Vessel in the first and second rounds. Golly will start playing cards with randomized stats and sigils with names selected from your Steam friends list, so put up a defense to prevent their onslaught as much as possible. You’ll want to start playing cards with Sniper to chip away at Golly’s life points after you’ve got adequate protection in place. You may be handed a Mummy Lord with three attack and three HP or a randomly generated card during the first stage. Both are often helpful and enjoyable to play.

However, there are a few more considerations to keep in mind. The board will be reset at the start of the second phase, so store some of your most powerful cards for later. Furthermore, since Golly’s cards are random, it may play cards that completely destroy whatever you play, and they appear to gain stronger as the battle progresses. As a result, you must strike a balance between winning swiftly and preserving your own health.
Phase two or instant victory
The second stage of Golly does not begin immediately after you have completed the first. Your opponent will first ask you to make a card that will be sent to another player. There are many reasons why designing a helpful card is worthwhile. You will skip the second phase and gain a free victory if the person who receives your card wins.
Meanwhile, if that player loses or Golly is unable to identify someone to send a card to, you will be the one to get it, and phase two will begin. As a result, make sure it’s a card that can win in one turn if used at the appropriate moment, and you’ll be in excellent shape for the second stage.

Phase two may be difficult even with a great card since the board resets and Golly plays another of those pesky Moles. You’ll have to focus on eliminating it while saving your life points until you see a chance to use the card you made to win the match. This shouldn’t be too tough if you’ve given your constructed card the Bifurcated Strike and Sniper sigils, especially if you have additional cards with Sniper on the board.
It may take a few attempts to defeat Golly due to the sheer unpredictability of the game. However, if you play smart and stick to making powerful cards that do a lot of damage rapidly, it won’t take long.
