Ubisoft and Hamilton revealed details about their partnership on Far Cry 6. The game is set to release on December 4th, 2018.
Ubisoft and Hamilton have released further information regarding their Far Cry 6 collaboration. Starting October 7, players will be able to wear the Limited-Edition Khaki Field Titanium Automatic both digitally and physically, as both businesses revealed today. Hamilton has announced that the virtual watch seen in Far Cry 6 will be available to buy and wear in the real world.
The Khaki Field Titanium Automatic seen in Far Cry 6 is unique in that it has remained ticking for decades on the fictitious Caribbean island of Yara, despite decades of turmoil. In 1983, it even escaped an assassination attempt on its previous owner and ruler of the island of Santos Espinosa. Only 1983 pieces of the special edition watch will be available for purchase IRL to commemorate the tale of this survivor.
Players take on the role of Dani Rojas as they battle to liberate Yara, which is controlled by the cruel tyrant Anton Castillo, who is portrayed by actor Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, 2009-2011). After winning a guerilla operation, players will be able to use the custom timepiece. The unique and original ‘keep on ticking’ benefit, which increases general defense during sprints, is also unlocked by players who acquire the watch.
Ubisoft Toronto’s Game Content Director, Omar Bouali, said:
Hamilton’s Khaki Field is more than just a fashion statement or a useful asset; it’s deeply rooted in Yara’s history, with a link to the island’s ousted king. It’s a little element, but it lends a great deal of realism to the cinematic universe we’ve built.
Khaki Field Titanium Automatic in real life is tough, robust, and dependable, combining cutting-edge functionality with military history. The watch is 42mm in diameter. It has a black vinyl dial with a matte center and a split ‘6′ marker, which is a homage to the game logo font. It is encased in a brushed titanium casing.
A revolutionary red seconds hand pays homage to Yara’s guerillas by nodding to the game’s colors. It comes with a brown leather NATO strap and an extra brown nubuck leather strap and changing tool to symbolize the do-it-yourself ‘Resolver’ attitude that is essential for players to adopt. Vivian Stauffer, Hamilton’s CEO, added:
We’ve learned the hard way that creating a prop watch for the screen doesn’t necessarily transfer to a real-world product. It makes the thought of someone wearing this limited-edition item as wrist gear in-game very intriguing, and we can’t wait to see it in action.
Far Cry 6 will be released for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, Amazon Luna, and PC on October 7, 2021. If you want to learn more about Far Cry 6, check out the game’s political details or the game’s previously published gameplay video.
